In a surprising turn of events, Alden Richards, the beloved Kapuso actor, has made the decision to abstain from participating in any noontime shows on GMA Network and its free-to-air GTV channel. Citing a strong sense of loyalty and delicadeza (propriety), Alden expressed his commitment to Tito, Vic, Joey, and the Dabarkads.

During the media conference for his upcoming show “Battle of the Judges,” which is set to air every Saturday starting July 15, Alden shared his perspective on the matter. He stated, “If it’s about promotion, that’s okay, but as a guest and regular host, I might have to decline for now because my heart is with the Dabarkads.”

Alden confirmed the existence of an offer from GMA management to appear in a noontime show. Grateful for the opportunity, he expressed his appreciation to GMA Network’s senior vice president, Atty. Annette Gozon-Valdes, for attentively considering his stance.

When asked about his relationship with the iconic trio Tito, Vic, and Joey (TVJ), Alden responded candidly, “I remained silent throughout the issue and refrained from meddling, but when I was asked about my relationship with TVJ, I spoke my truth. I am not a hypocrite. I cannot deny the bond and experiences I’ve shared with the Dabarkads over the past seven years. It would be insincere of me to let go of those cherished moments just because they are no longer with GMA. So, I simply told the truth.”

Asserting his right to defend the connection and respect he has for the people he has worked with in the entertainment industry, Alden emphasized, “I believe that’s a basic human right. It’s my prerogative to safeguard those relationships and the person I am in front of them.”

Expressing his deep affection for the Dabarkads, Alden declared, “I hold this group of people dear to my heart. I have been with them for a long time. It accounts for a good six or seven years of my entire career. As I’m approaching my 12th year in the industry, it’s safe to say that half of my life in this profession has been spent on (old) Eat Bulaga!”

While acknowledging that he is saddened by his inability to join the group in their new network, Alden acknowledged his position as an employee and the limited control he has over decisions made by both parties. However, he added, “No exclusivity exists solely within GMA; other networks have it too. Wherever I may go, my heart will always remain with the Dabarkads.”

It’s worth noting that Alden became a co-host of Eat Bulaga! in 2015 and eventually became known for his on-screen partnership with Maine “Yaya Dub” Mendoza. Their immense popularity gave birth to a mini-series called “Kalyeserye.”

In conclusion, Alden Richards’ heartfelt decision to prioritize his loyalty to the Dabarkads and his long-standing relationship with them showcases his commitment to the values of integrity and gratitude. Despite declining the offer to join a noontime show, Alden’s fans can look forward to his upcoming show, “Battle of the Judges,” where he will undoubtedly bring his trademark charm and talent to captivate audiences once again.
