Although it’s unknown who initiated the interaction first, the unexpected event brought joy to fans who waited long enough for the interaction between the two celebrities. This comes after years of speculation about a rumored feud between them.
Marian and Heart last shared a project together through the 2011 comedy film Temptation Island, in which they starred with Rufa Mae Quinto, Lovi Poe, and Solenn Heussaff. It was in this year that rumors of a rift between them started circulating, brought about by how the two of them expressed interest in getting paired with each other’s partners.
At the time, Heart was in a relationship with Daniel Matsunaga, while Marian was dating her now-husband Dingdong Dantes.
The rift became bigger when Heart’s mother, Cecile Ongpauco, allegedly confronted Marian at the airport with a team of bodyguards and yelled at Marian to stay away from her daughter.
A month later during a press conference, Marian broke down as she recalled the incident. She said that she and Heart were okay, so she was surprised by what happened.
Heart and her mother held a separate press conference saying it wasn’t true and that those were airport security, not bodyguards.
GMA later released a statement, saying that the issue between their two stars is a “personal one” and that they were asked to “put this unpleasant issue to rest.”
Since then, the two stars have not been seen together.
While it was reported that they quietly settled their issue during the Dolphy Tribute Special in 2012, fans continued to pit the two actresses against each other, comparing their magazine covers, Dolce & Gabbana shirts, and calendar posters.
