Classes on Monday, October 9 are suspended in several areas in Batangas due to volcanic fog or vog from Taal volcano.

Vog, an acidic gas that may severely irritate the eyes, throat, and respiratory tract, has been observed over Taal Volcano’s caldera on Sunday, according to state volcanologists.

The following areas suspended classes:

BATANGAS

• Calaca – all levels, public and private (shift to online/modular classes)

• San Jose – all levels, public and private

• Batangas City – all levels, public and private (shift to online/modular classes)
