Father’s Day is a special day that is dedicated to celebrating fathers and fatherhood. This annual occasion is celebrated worldwide, and is meant to honor the role of fathers in raising and nurturing their children. While it is generally expected that fathers will be pampered with gifts, cards, and special treats on this day, there is a growing debate about the role that wives should play in Father’s Day celebrations. The question is: is it important for a wife to celebrate Father’s Day with her children?

I just wanted to share my thoughts with regards to the scenario I have seen awhile ago.

I went to market to buy the things I need for my menu tomorrow. I use to cook for my hubby’s “baon” and snacks for work. I am about to pay for my bread when I heard a child said, “Mama, bilhin mo to oh.” I was curious so I took a glance on what he’s pointing at. It’s a small cake with a can of liquor besides it. “Ang cute, para kay papa sana.” I smiled, and looked at his mother. I was disappointed to her reply to her son. She said with an unwillingness in her face, “Hmmmn! Hayaan mo yun.” Then she grab his hand and walked away. I don’t want to have any negative thoughts but that scenario really saddened me. I never know what they’re going through, with the high costs of living today, I can’t blame the mother either. I bought the cake and about to give it to him but I can no longer see them. I just brought it home and gave it to my husband.

The cake that the boy wanted to gave his father.

Now, going back to the question, the answer is unequivocally YES. Celebrating Father’s Day with children is an essential part of honoring fathers. At the same time, an important opportunity for wives to reinforce the special bond between fathers and their children. Fathers play an important role in the lives of their children, and their impact can be felt in many different ways. They are a source of guidance, support, and love, and their presence is what makes a family complete.

As wives, it is important that we not only acknowledge the role that fathers play in our lives and the lives of our children, but also assure them that they are valued and appreciated. By celebrating Father’s Day with children, we can help reinforce the special bond that fathers share with their kids, and create lasting memories that will be treasured for years to come.

Father’s Day is a chance for wives to show their appreciation for all that their husbands do for their families. It is an opportunity to say thank you, to express gratitude, and to celebrate the special bond between fathers and children. Celebrating Father’s Day with children can take many different forms, from simple gestures like breakfast in bed to more elaborate surprises such as a family outing or a special gifts.
